Dillon Alleyne

Dr. Dillon Alleyne lectures in the Department of Economics at the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica. His research interests include: Remittances and Development, Labour market behavior and Taxation. He is currently on a 2 year Fellowship examining Remittances and related issues in the Caribbean.

Author of several reports some of the papers completed include: Alleyne D., G. Mc Leod, C. Kirton and M. Figueroa 2006. “Short
-Run Macroeconomic Determinants of Remittance Flows to
Jamaica 1983.1-2001.4.” Accepted for publication the Applied Economics Letters.

In his presentation Dr. Alleyne will focus on “The Impact of Remittances on Poverty and Inequality in Jamaica: What is the evidence?”.
