Alan Bernard

Alan Bernard is a PhD Candidate at the Centre for African Renaissance Studies, University of South Africa (UNISA) and a Research Assistant in the Centre for Caribbean Thought, Department of Government, at the University of the West Indies, Mona. He also tutors in Government and lectures in Sociology at UWI, Mona, and is a Part-time lecturer in Political Science at the University College of the Caribbean, Jamaica.
He is the Coordinator of All African Students’ Conference Secretariat (AASC), and Senior Advisor to the Marcus Garvey
Movement, UWI, Mona.


Mr. Bernard’s research interests include Jamaican Political Culture, Inner-city Development and Leadership Structures, Jamaican Popular Culture and Africa/African Diaspora Relations.
