Matthew ‘KnIfe’ Harvey

Matthew Harvey is a Ph.D. candidate (Thesis submitted) in the Sustainable Development programme at The University of the West Indies, Mona. His research focus is on the application of dynamic strategic planning techniques (foresighting, policy analysis and development, and scenario planning) within developing countries. He has developed a number of sustainable community development projects in both rural and ‘inner-city’ communities.

Mr. Harvey has also served as a consultant to the United Nations

Development Programme – Common Country Assessment for Jamaica – ‘Socio Economic and Sustainable Development’ – 2005 and the Caribbean Natural Resource Institute (CANARI) – ‘Who Pays for Water’ -2005.

His educational experiences include a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Economics at the University of the West Indies, Mona and M.Sc Modules in Environmental Strategy (A.C.U. Split Site Doctorial Programme), University of Surrey, Guildford, UK. He has been Chairman of the Youth Advisory Committee to the Minister of State, in the Ministry of Agriculture, Jamaica, 1999; Research Assistant: ‘Alienation among inner-city Youths’ 1999 and a member of the National Tax Policy Review Committee of Jamaica, April 1999.
