Wayne Henry

Wayne Henry PhD is the Head of the Jamaica Liaison office of the World Bank. He represents positions and interests of the Bank to its clients locally, provides overall country assessments to the Headquarters of the Bank, provides economic monitoring, evaluations and updates on Jamaica and assists in oversight for World Bank projects in Jamaica. His professional experience also includes working as a Financial Analyst (1991 – 1992) for GraceKennedy with responsibilities for cash management among the divisions of the company, assisting in foreign exchange budgeting and control and preparing reports for top management

on cash and foreign exchange positions of the company.

Dr. Henry has presented at many conferences including “Financing Agriculture in Jamaica: An Assessment” The Thirteenth Annual Conference, Jamaican Society for Agricultural Sciences (JSAS) and the National Forum on Holistic Rural Development hosted by the Inter-American Institute for Co-Operation on Agriculture (IICA). Most recently he presented on the topic of Diasporic Philanthropy at the “Giving Back: The Philanthropic Information Exchange for the Profit and Not-for-Profit Communities” hosted by the UWI Development and Endowment Fund.

His educational experience includes University of the West Indies, Kingston, Jamaica B.Sc. Economics and Management (Hon.) - May 1991; Howard University, Washington, D.C. M.B.A. (Finance) - May 1994; The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio M.A. Economics - December 1996 and Ph.D., Agricultural & Development Economics - December 2000.
